Suppliers play an important role in supporting the well-being of CFIC’s retailers. CFIC connects its associate members to retailers and wholesalers doing business throughout North and South Carolina. As the only state organization representing the legislative interest of retail grocers in the state, support of CFIC’s vendor members is critical to the Council. Active participation in CFIC events by retailers and wholesalers provides valuable networking opportunities for our supplier members. CFIC is committed to promoting and strengthening the food industry through a variety of services offered to our Associate members.
“Our partnership with CFIC has been invaluable. It has paid dividends through our exposure to non-wine industry innovation cross promotional opportunities. We built incremental programming as a result of the one-on-one meetings and exposure to co-op partners. We have developed long-term relationships through our involvement with CFIC that we likely would not have had the opportunity to build otherwise.” -Jarron Harkness, E.&J. Gallo Winery

A trade organization whose purpose is to improve the public image, effectiveness and profitability of retailers and suppliers to the food industry. Headquartered in Raleigh, the Council serves more than 2,500 grocers in the Carolinas and has staff in both states. Membership with CFIC is one of the best investments a grocery retailer, supplier, broker or wholesaler can make.
- CFIC defends and advocates on behalf of the grocery industry in both North and South Carolina.
- CFIC provides access to lobbyists who will ensure you are in compliance with old and new laws.
CFIC offers member-only benefits and networking opportunities between grocery retailers and vendor companies.
“Small retailers rarely get one-on-one time with someone so knowledgeable on our state regulatory issues. Most small retailers don’t have an in-house lawyer, accounting department or a regulatory department. CFIC ensures we are in compliance with old laws and new laws that impact my business. It makes me a more confident business owner knowing that they are a phone call away.” -Ricky Knighton, Galaxy Food Stores
