Information about SNAP

Guidance for retailers and customers regarding potential changes to November 2025 SNAP benefit schedules during a federal government shutdown. During this time, CFIC is also working closely with both governors’ offices and national partners at FMI — The Food Industry Association and the National Grocers Association.

All states were notified on October 10 that if the federal government shutdown continues, November 2025 SNAP benefits will not be issued on the regular schedule.

For SNAP customers

Customers with a remaining balance on their EBT card from past months can continue to use those benefits.

  • Check your EBT balance before shopping.
  • Prioritize essentials while scheduling uncertainty persists.

Industry commitment to food banks

The retail grocery industry has a long-standing history of supporting food banks year-round and remains committed to that support through product donations and monetary contributions.

Governor Josh Stein announces nearly $18 million raised to shore up food banks.

State and private donors have contributed funds to support food banks in anticipation of increased need.

South Carolina
Governor Henry McMaster activates the One SC Fund.

The fund enables a coordinated private charitable giving campaign to provide direct assistance to food banks and local feeding partners across the state.
