Trends in holiday hiring

Large retailers have been in the news recently: Companies such as Macy’s, Target, Wal-Mart and Kohl’s are hiring tens of thousands of employees for the holidays. But that’s only part of the story. Employees already in temporary or part-time retail positions are frequently offered additional hours during the holidays, and many holiday employees stay on after the new year.
