Information about SNAP
Guidance for retailers and customers regarding potential changes to November 2025 SNAP benefit schedules during a federal government shutdown. During this time, CFIC is also working closely with both governors’ offices and national partners at FMI — The Food Industry Association and the National Grocers Association.
For SNAP customers
Customers with a remaining balance on their EBT card from past months can continue to use those benefits.
- Check your EBT balance before shopping.
- Prioritize essentials while scheduling uncertainty persists.
Retail signage for in-store communication
CFIC has developed signage that grocers can display to help customers check balances and find local food resources.
Industry commitment to food banks
The retail grocery industry has a long-standing history of supporting food banks year-round and remains committed to that support through product donations and monetary contributions.
State actions
State and private donors have contributed funds to support food banks in anticipation of increased need.
The fund enables a coordinated private charitable giving campaign to provide direct assistance to food banks and local feeding partners across the state.
