Details on NC & SC Early SNAP Issuance

Per a letter from NC Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) North Carolina will issue February SNAP Benefits on January 20.  DHHS has provided posters in English and Spanish to educate consumers in your stores. Please help get the word out to the community.

The South Carolina Department of Social Services has issued a press release announcing that they will issue SNAP benefits on January 17. Click here for the poster.

Once issued, households will not receive any additional benefits in February. While no one knows how long this shutdown will continue, we do know that this plan is final, and the early issuance will proceed as planned even if the shutdown is resolved this week. During this time, new applications will continue to be processed. Furthermore, the USDA has not provided information about the availability of benefits beyond February while the shutdown is in place.
